A timeless softness fills those young women portraits a bit out of focus, in homes with rich colors, overburden by the tapestries omnipresence, where light itself becomes gluey in an almost palpable breathlessness, and we might better understand that weariness that seems to drive them, a form of boredom like set in a waiting stase, plunged in greenish tints like those we could find at the bottom of ponds, a liquid atmosphere dragging us along in its wake, where everything is laying down when life settles.
