The Flower Patch Girls

Paintings and drawings by Los Angeles based artist Andrew Foster (b. April 8, 1982). Foster’s subject matter revolves around his usual potent mixture of whimsy, sensuality and social commentary. In Andrew’s work the viewer sees satirical renderings of All-American myths depicting aging superheroes, uncouth pinups, and faceless 9 to 5ers in rumpled business suits.
Though light and whimsy in tone, Foster maintains his sardonic sense of humor. He employs a romanticized palette referencing Rococo and Impressionism with themes that revolve around overtly joyous, day dreaming girls who frolic and lounge in idealistic landscapes.
