As an avid SCUBA diver, my soul lies with the sea. This artist is local to me but his work is worldwide. Good stuff.
from the artist’s website:
Artist, J. Vincent Scarpace creates original works of fine art in acrylic, watercolor, oils, pastels, and other mediums – almost always within a ‘fish’ theme. The original works of J. Vincent Scarpace (best known for his abstract fish art) represent, in his own words, “a personal journey through the use of basic of art elements: line, shape, and color – resulting in an arrival, just past experimentation, at unique works of art which purposely resemble fish.” He’s followed his passion for the creative process, discovering that therein may lay the true reason for his next work of art – the pursuit of one’s own creative potential.

I like the emphasis that you place on the eye, the focus coming back from the gaze makes each work question the viewer, but the hollow blank spaces within the pupil suggest an empty reflection which makes each fish a piscine existential crisis.
